Unfortunately having read the books my view will be tainted. The Show does not explore the key themes apart from 'dark and gritty' in any way leaving it hollow by comparison to the books. Further to this the use of the 'Diverse Cast' only detracts from the character of Sagramor from the books.
Overall this may be enjoyable if you have no preconceptions of the books, however if you have read them I would avoid.

The first one was special, well paced with very good character development. The second felt hollow and generic. Wasn't absolutely awful, but when especially compared to the first was subpar.
