Excellent depiction of the Vietnam War and the horrors of combat. The book is perfectly broken up into sections of combat, Stan's childhood, and his homecoming. I really enjoyed the end of the novel describing his homecoming and later returning to Vietnam.

An absolute amazing read. Intense and heroic account of men who fought the Vietnam Wars toughest battles. The balls these guys had is hard to believe, only way to somewhat understand is through this book. Greatest Vietnam War book I've ever read.

Just finished the book. What an amazing story of sacrifice, loyalty, determination and will.
