Like so many others, the Gabriel Allon series has been one of my favorites….until now. This was a blatant pass of passing off his personal opinion to a captive audience….my guess is that he will no longer have as big of a captive audience in the future. I don’t care what his political opinions are neither do I care what anyone’s opinions are, if I want opinions, I know where to go, but what I don’t expect is to be “tricked” into someone’s opinions under the guise of a work of fiction. Adding additional chapters to provide your opinions is a discredit to the craft you created through the Allon series. I’m not sure I can read any future books without fear of being subtely or not so subtlety fed the author’s opinions. I have one word for this book and author….disappointing.
