I genuinely tried to get into this show. Basically my thought process was that it only had low ratings because of review bombing. Multiple articles that I read said so! They explained that The Acolyte is actually a fantastic series and the only reason it is getting low scores on everything except rotten tomatoes, which Disney owns, is because of “dudebros” or “old fans” review bombing it. Oh how wrong they were. It deeply saddens me that many news sites that deal directly with movie/tv show critiques are lying about why this show did/is doing so poorly. I know most news sites are reliable nowadays, but to see it creep into entertainment news is annoying at the very least. I watched the first 3 episodes and stopped there. I kept convincing myself it would get better, but instead I was met with disappointment. They completely ignored the canon lore… Why? No idea. Maybe it didn’t fit their script, but if that’s the case then at the very least call it a re-imagining of the Star Wars universe. They lied and I had to spend almost 3 hours of my life paying for those lies. I hope they are all ashamed of themselves…
