Tragically true. It wasn't what I was taught about American History in public school. But as an adult who homeschooled our three kids along with my husband, we used this book as a high school history text. "There is nothing new under the sun". The wealthy have always oppressed the poor, way before both came to America. It didn't take them long to do that to Native Americans, poor white immigrants from other European countries and imported slave labor. This book tells it like it really was and in many cases, still is.
