It is a sad, but feel-good PG movie that I'm happy that I saw. It does beautifully show a dog's loyalty to their family.

I think this movie would fall in the category of, "I'm happy to have seen it, but I don't think I would watch it again." There are some slow parts, but they get past that well enough.
