Emotional story with superb acting, shows the real story of a dispassionate state system that makes it deliberately difficult for people to claim financial aid and drives them to bad places. For anyone who has been through trying to claim benefits for ill health or deal with a robotic heavily scripted civil service you will recognise the struggles. Those who have been privileged not to have to ask for help, through whatever circumstances, will do well to learn something about the real people and have empathy.
Amazing film which also tells an important story without being preachy or political. During Covid many people who never thought they'd need state aid had to apply, with cost of living spiralling many more are finding it hard. This film will especially resonate with anyone who has ever dealth with DWP or pretty much any civil service department.
