Noah Baumbach's cinematic explorations of divorce are a huge contribution to our culture, an acknowledgment of primal truths that need reckoning. Fourteen years after THE SQUID AND THE WHALE, Baumbach returns to the subject of spousal separation, shifting perspective from the children to the parents, with another film classic in the offing. Congratulations to all the artists who worked on this wonderful, heartbreaking film. It gives me hope to see such an achievement make it to the finish line. Also, divorce lawyers suck.
