As a movie Mei Mei is VERY annoying it could be a side character not the hero of movie.
As a message: I am protective middle eastern father so this movie is a stereotypical for overprotective parents and stupid annoying teens which both of them aren't true never seen a teen like Mei Mei nor a mother like this.
