I wanted to give this a better rating until the last episode. It’s different than normal halo yes but it’s more than that. It’s like they recreated ever major sci-fi story line and then just slapped halo on the cover for people to get excited. Cinematically it’s great but the writing is honestly terrible. I’m ok with writing a new story line but you gotta keep certain things the same. It shouldn’t turn into a rom com between chief and some chick who hates humanity and is on the covenants side- that’s just to much in my opinion. If your gonna go a different way keep the overall basis of a character similar to the original. Chief is supposed to be the one of the greatest militaristic minds and weapon ever made. He’s also supposed to be the man who never quits to save humanity. Your supposed to want to believe in him and root for him and this does not live up to expectations. All in all writing I give a 0 and cinematography I give a 4.7 so average around 2.4 stars. They should’ve let real writers take this instead of people trying to make a buck. It would’ve been one of the greatest shows ever made.
