The show was deliberately inaccurate in many ways. The actor who played Rodney Alcala was miscast in my opinion. He was not scary to me- whereas even seeing photos of the real Rodney Alcala sends shivers down my spine- pure evil. The message of the show - basically a statement of violence against women in society, seemed forced by the ridiculous, and fictional, Dating Game scenes instead of letting the real events speak for themselves.

Although this formula has been seen before, I really enjoyed this movie. The interactions between the children was so natural and the setting of their home so real. It is about a serious subject (kids going into the foster care system) yet the movie captured something special and magical about these kids that to me outweighed its flaws.
