In no way is this a 10/10 movie, and they knew that. From the start, itโs pretty clear that it's something fun, lighthearted, and tries to fill itself with humor. The beginning leans heavily on exposition and jokes to bring the audience in alongside the humor. Although it does drop it at the climax, where the action starts(they did have some pretty enjoyable action scenes before tho).
Itโs a fairly short movie, and I honestly wish it were longer. While entertaining, I would have loved to see more Minecraft items/elements included. There were moments where it felt like they could have pushed the world-building a bit further, but kept certain scenes fairly short where they could've built way longer/better on. (Should've added more references smh but still had a good amount)
Overall, it was a funny movie that brings a good laugh. In my heart, itโs an amazing experience; one that my 6-year-old self would have absolutely gone crazy for. Growing up with Minecraft, I really love that they created something special for those of us who have played and loved the game for years(and to let the new generation enjoy as well). While it's not perfect, it definitely captures the essence of Minecraft in a way that feels nostalgic and unique. The work and visuals were put so much thought into, and you can tell it really was a passion project.
