This show used to be my absolute favourite. It was a family tradition to watch every single second and be glued to every move made by the players that would become household names. I've watched it since S1. After steady degradation in quality (all excusable because the show remained generally good), post-pandemic around the last three seasons (41-43), the show has become utterly unrecognisable, unwatchable garbage. S41 & 42 represented a terrible return of the show. CBS proudly declared the game was being reborn, but in actuality they just screwed up a legendary show. From the oversaturation of ludicrously unnecessary 'rewards', the shortened time of each season leading to a disconnect with the viewer and the players (less time to get to know players and their strategy), or to the show now boiling down every player to nothing but their race, culture or background sob story (here's a hint from earlier seasons of Survivor back when the show worked: SHOW me why I should care for and respect a player, don't TELL me why I should care by shoving unwanted and invasive personal racially-charged sob stories down my throat. It's a cheap carnival trick to manufacture artificial sympathy but it doesn't work). Season 43 was the final straw, and it was literally the first season I 100% lost all interest in and did not even care to finish watching. My interest burned out like a dying flame. The moment the show went full-woke and changed the classic catchphrase of "come on in guys" (which, I'm sorry, is offensive to NO ONE) to just "come on in" was a perfect representation of when the show truly felt dead to me and I began rapidly losing interest; just another show that's sold its soul to the left's cultural and political agenda. The show has always had cultural elements, heck it used to be a show about the multicultural fabric of the world coming together to agree to play it out and see who has the most grit to win, regardless of race, sex, or background; it was brilliant. Now it just hits different. I feel like the show is trying to shame me for being the skin colour I am, and make others feel victimised for being the skin colour they are. It helps no one. You can't watch any damn show without politics being forced down your throat lately. Survivor used to be an exception, but sadly no more.
