Although the author has provided a number of interesting and somewhat exciting accounts of gold traffic during WWII, this book suffers from a lack of editing. Repetitive and poorly structured passages and an overreliance on numbers quickly proves wearying to the reader. There is promise here, and in the hands of a talented editor the book could read like a real-life thriller, which in many aspects it is. Unfortunately, the book becomes bogged down and confusing, ending with an unsatisfying thump.
