Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Ten years for this?

With the 1.5 update I decided to give this game another try. Playing on PS5 with no bugs or stuttering & about 10 hours in. What an amazing game! I seriously haven't had this much fun since Elden Ring, though LotF plays more like DS3 which isn't a bad thing. Happy I gave it another chance!

This game looks and plays great, but it is in no way a Final Fantasy game IMHO. No party dynamic. Gear is bland and upgrading monotonous. As many have already stated, it's a Devil May Cry game in new clothes. Bring back classic FF please!

I'd first like to say that this fantasy series means a lot to me and has been my favorite in the genre since I started reading it in 1991. I've read the entire series twice with some of the early books getting five or six rereads. When the producers went ahead with this television adaptation I was both excited and terrified. Would they stay true to Jordan's masterpiece or let their political ideologies interfere? Well, it appears the woke ideology won. Very sad as a real adaptation could compete with Game of Thrones for complexity and grit. The funniest thing is that WoT is enormously diverse, and if people had been patient and waited a while they would have seen that. The Sea Folk lose their uniqueness now that everyone else is black.

My biggest gripe is with production values. The graphics feel last gen, and the story is uninteresting. I don't feel drawn into the world like I was with games like 'G of Tsushima', or 'Cyberpunk 2077'. The open world aspect is fun, but there doesn't ever seem to be a point to whatever it is I'm doing. If you just want to walk around and take in the lore it can be enjoyable. A good attempt but it falls short in my opinion.

I came to this game in late 2022, so most of the bugs had been fixed for my first playthrough. My PS5 ran smoothe and the visuals were stunning! Night in the city is amazing, especially when it's raining. The reflections and rain effects were almost photorealistic. Gameplay was fairly intuitive and combat challenging but fair. Utilizing your cyberware is essential for some battles where you can short circuit gun turrets or remotely blow things up. Character customization is complex with room for all play styles. The story is great, but the gigs and side stories are what makes this game so time consuming. With the main story and most side quests I logged in around 47 hours. The content is meant for adult audiences. My favorite game since Ghost of Tsushima.

Pleasantly surprised at how good this series is! Best fantasy on stream right now.

High production values, but too woke for me. Just my opinion.
