Without a doubt the most visually detailed and comprehensive coverage of WW2. Because of its vast content, it had to be broken into parts and this is where a thorough analysis suitably narrated by Sir L Olivier takes place. Layered, meaningful, respectful, reflective, and confronting, no stone is left unturned so the viewer has a well-rounded understanding of all the different elements that collectively made a mark on humanity. The magnitude of making such a documentary has been deservedly acknowledged and highly acclaimed. What is even more amazing is the production (1973/1974) which stands the test of time and remains untouched today. A 5-star masterpiece.
