I really wanted to like this but ultimately, I feel that this is one of the worst pokemon games I have ever played. Gameplay: Gameplay itself isnt too bad hence 2 stars. It provides a new way to fight which did not feel too tedious. But ultimately, it wasnt that innovative and felt janky to me at times. Wasnt too boring but also wasnt too fun. Map: I was worried about the city and my fears came true. The city is incredibly lackluster with lots of memes on the boring buildings and terrible designs. After a few hours of playing, I already felt completely sick of the locations, and felt that wherever I roamed was the same view. It felt like I was trapped in a boring box. This is the biggest point that made me feel its the worse pokemon game of all time. Performance I bought the switch 2 version over the 1 which felt like a complete rip off. I have been happy with my switch 2 version with most games providing a decent upgrade in performance . Look up any side by side comparison and the only difference you’ll see is that maybe the pokemon switch 2 rocks look a bit darker. Moving around on roofs is janky, and they also added optional platforming gameplay but those felt unbearable to do. After what feels like a cashgrab and lack of dedication to create a proper game, I will no longer purchase pokemon games unless they’re proven to be of a higher quality. As of this review (~7 hours), I have dropped the game.
