I thought the Mario movie was great! Ignore the critical reviews, they are from people who have never even heard of any video games in their entire life. The reason I rated this movie 4 stars instead of 5 is because there are a few sore points such as the plot being quite thin, not including absolutely every Mario game mechanic (when I say absolutely every I don’t mean I want them to put in everything from the games I would just like a tad more variety), the movie is a little shorter than I believe it should be to fit in more elements from Mario games but this movie is a great length to keep all audiences engaged and excited. Great things about this film include: so many references to the main games that I believe everyone will enjoy, fun plot and adventures. The sheer thrill of seeing the Mario characters in an animated world is just awesome! Overall, I totally recommend immediately going to see this movie if you are a fan of Mario games old or new because this movie is just very fun!
