Piper should have won an Academy Award, if for no other reason than the firestorm that would have come at the Oscar ceremony when Rowdy Ronny body slammed Marlon Brando for the on-screen rape of Maria Schneider during "Last Tango". With "They Live", Carpenter was calling out Hollywood Elites for their sick, exploitative and alien behavior. Absolutely no doubt about that.
