It’s a rather bizarre idea that a man travels 70 years back in time for a one night stand. If some people find that romantic, well okay. I prefer the novel Bid Time Return’s story where the protagonist has brain cancer and it’s left up to the reader to decide if Richard Collier really went back in time or was his diary’s entry a side effect delusion caused by cancer. I don’t know why the author Richard Matheson changed the story in the screenplay and left out that part of the plot. Maybe he thought people wouldn’t like the ambiguous original ending.
