I WENT TO THE EYE DOCTOR TO GET CHECKED FOR CATARACTS AFTER SEEING THIS. Anamorphic lenses instead of spherical lenses were used for the filming which results in part of the image being out of focus. This drove me crazy. I went to the manager to complain that the projector lens was out of focus and Googled the movie in the lobby on the way. Then I saw the post, "Why is The Batman So Blurry" which explains it. If you like your movies in focus, don't see it. On top of that, the story, acting, dialogue, and lighting are terrible. Here's an example of the dialogue. Alfred: "Where are your cufflinks?" Bruce Wayne: "I couldn't find them."
Robert Pattison as Batman/Bruce Wayne is horrendous, breathlessly saying his lines and running all the words together. He is unfit to have been Adam West's understudy.
Filming the action scenes in the dark , masks special effects flaws. The 2 hr. and 56 minute running time is agonizing. I can only imagine what the studio executives thought when they screened it. The studios have launched the biggest disinformation campaign in show business history, promoting this film as a masterpiece. Unfortunately, film critics are propagating this lie.
Compared to this movie, Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice looks like Citizen Kane. Not suprisingly, most of the 5 star audience reviews when you Google The Batman Review regurgitate the same adjectives. This should make you wonder. Look at the bar graph for audience reviews. The 1 star reviews are about 20% of the 5 star reviews. If you didn't like this movie, please post a review.
