I read the books, which were amazing… so you can imagine my disappointment when I watched this and it was trash. Netflix really missed the mark with this one. The character casting is awful. The ‘magic’ scenes are poorly done special effects. The acting looks like it’s got no emotion, as if the director is feeding lines in between cuts. Overall not worth the time. The plot is far more intriguing, detailed, and well explained in the books.
