First watch and first impressions are mixed. Ezra brings the more humorous side of Flash, which I like, but it was almost exhausting in the opening action scene. I still don’t like the way he runs in slow-mo. It looks like he’s ice skating when he’s supposed to be running. The entire plot comes full circle, but it doesn’t really move forward the DCU at all. It seemed more like a character development movie with a lot of unwanted cameos that I didn’t care for. The time traveling aspect didn’t quite make much sense to me. I know this is told many different ways in many different universes and movies, but the MCU’s version of time travel seems to make more sense to me. Although, DC’s analogy in the movie makes sense for this storyline. The last, and most glaring problem I had with the ENTIRE movie from start to finish was the complete over use of poor CGI effects. Slow-mo effects looked very plastic-like and Ezra’s face in many scenes looked like clay. Overall, it was an enjoyable movie, but I don’t think it would be a movie I’d care watch again.
