Heres whats great about this movie. - It references a lot of information from the original books, and for a die hard fan like me, it was very satisfying. - The visual effects were amazing, the Mosasaurs scene was very reminiscent of the Godzilla Minus One ocean chase scene. - There were plenty of moments that were just stunning and fully captivating. - the OST was good Heres what i didnt like about the movie. - the whole idea of "people getting tired of dinosaurs" is SO STUPID. like zoos are still popular. If people are willing to pay to go see a sad elephant in an enclosure. There is no world where people get tired of going to see dinosaurs. Dinosaurs are one of the most popular museum exhibits in the real world. They need to get over this plot line, its just stupid. - plot armor. Tons and Tons of plot armor. Anime levels of plot armor. I actually started rooting for the dinousaurs to make any sort of significant kill other then "Rich White Guy or "Insensitive Gun Security Man". Even when being chased by dinosaurs, i feel like the safest space was right next to the main cast. - Too much exposition. Like i get it, dinosaurs live on this small island. You dont need to shove it down my thoat. FINAL VERDICT. This isint Tenet or Fury. If you want a plot driven, thought provoking, emotional movie. Then this probably isint for you. If you wanna see Spinosaurus team up with Mosasaur and other dino action scenes. Then this is money and time well spent. FOR ME. definetly the best movie outside of the original. (Not that the bar was super high)

Just watched the early release in IMAX. This movie is a masterpiece. It is one of the rare movies where I felt a true emotional connection to the human characters. Often in a Godzilla film you want more Godzilla and less of the "plot humans", but this movie hit the perfect balance. This is a movie about family, about the value of life, and returns Godzilla back to its serious origins. The effects are also a spectacle, never have I seen such a clear view at Godzilla and have him move in such an organic way. A monstrous Godzilla paired with a somber and beautiful plot. There has never been a better Godzilla film in theater.

Here's what's wrong with the movie. The villain is evil just for the plot to make sense. The king created a kingdom specifically for people to come and for them to willingly give them his wishes. He doesn't force anyone to do it, and for the majority of his life he created a prosperous soci ety. But in typical Disney fashion some random 18 year old thinks they know better. Worse yet, she is selfish, and the entire movie is based on her wanting to get her families wishes granted, and after the fact she decides to help everyone else. Now everyone gets a chance to fulfill their wish, at the cost of the society the king created. So when people starve to death or die in wars attempting to fulfill their wish, then I guess that's alright. It's just so stupid in the logic they use. They should have had the king evil from the start if they wanted to go this route.
