Great cast and acting, but I’m not enjoying this show at all (I’m on episode 5, skipped 4 hoping that Sally will end it). Sally goes from a loveless relationship with (harmless but boring) David to an emotionally manipulative, unhealthy and frankly toxic relationship with Emma. The therapist (while meant to be funny) reaffirms everything that Emma is saying to keep her in the relationship. Emma slitting her wrists to stop Sally leaving her is controlling and coercive behaviour, and the professionals around them are going alone with it! I get that it’s meant to be dark comedy and that there may be some laughs (somewhere) but if Emma was a man this wouldn’t be considered comedy. There’d be a helpline at the end if each episode. I’m out.
