Like any Terminator film they've made after the first two, truely disappointing! When I found out John Connor died, that ruined it for me, especially when they said the actor himself, (Edward Furlong) would return and for what, some short cheap cgi moment before being killed, ripoff.
To think James Cameron returned and you would have expected the series to finally get back on it's feet. I understand they want to create ways for women to be the heroes too, but they must consider doing that for a totally different franchise than stealing it from the true hero of the series, John Connor.
So I strongly suggest they get it right and make a Terminator film which is a direct sequel to the first two and is finally going to have what it always should of had.
Judgment day finally coming, John Connor has a new protector against a Terminator that is once again sent back through to time to kill john. Skynet's last shot to eliminate the prophesied Messiah of mankind against the machines and from that point on, it's sequels, to finally take place in the future after the events of judgment day to see John unite the resistance and go to war throughout the rest of the Terminator franchise as for told.
