Feels like a "feel good" drama from the 80's. It clearly has points to make, and it sacrifices a good drama to instead make those points rather bluntly, then quickly wrap up the missing person case in a couple minutes.
I get what they are trying to do, and I'm all for it. But the writing leaves a lot to be desired. These are all really good actors that could do better if they were given better material to work with.
If the show makes it to season 2 we'll give it another shot.
