Awais is a fantastic writer. I finished this book so quickly it was truly captivating. Not a hard read and yet so well written you feel yourself connected to the individuals, the beautiful scenes laid out and the events as they unfold. This book makes you experience so many emotions; some a little too close to home for those of us who mildly experienced the events. It is the perfect combination of suspense, romance and real life issues wrapped up into one novel. What I truly appreciate about this book is how there was no attempt to hide the reality of what Asian women suffer behind closed doors, even if they are prominent. The struggle to marry the western culture, with an orthodox culture hellbent on oppressing women and the suffocating abuse women of Asian origin endure. The normalcy of misogyny in the Asian hemisphere. Without giving too much away, I’ll say it’s a book that will leave you a little teary eyed and attached to the main character. A book I highly recommend! If this book were a movie it would really move people as a real hit.
No I haven’t been paid to write this lol, but good job Awais!
