This is DCs first genuine attempt at recreating the magic and wonder that’s found in the best of the Amblin family of movies since the original Superman in 1978. It’s a film about the ultimate wishfullfilment. It’s parts Pagemaster, Goonies, and Big which is a good thing. I think Dylan Grazer and Levi are stars and cannot wait to see them in a sequel or wherever they pop up next. Shazam!, is a good time at the movies. With a story centered on family and a heroic musical score that is reminiscent of Back to the Future, Superman, and ET this movie shines as bright as the lightning bolt of Levi’s chest.
