This story is essentially about ways mothers are driven to absolute madness by misogyny - except that an insufferably self-righteous red herring named Toby keeps hijacking the narrative. If exasperating and triggering their audience was the objective, then 5 stars. But mental illness and sexual assault are not a twist of flavor you pepper in an otherwise bland and self-involved storyline.
