Hated it. I really tried to enjoy it, waiting for a moment of, well... SOMETHING! The apartment is absolutely gross and I couldn't get around the fact nobody cared. Everyone was so worried about toilet paper and paper towels, I found myself screaming "clean the damn windows!". I fell asleep on the first go-round and woke up to a sound I can only describe out of the flick "Psycho". I paused the last 12 minutes and decided to give it another go the day after Turkey Day...ugh, it got worse. The most annoying thing was the married daughter's character (Brigid). Throughout the film, I get a sense she is trying to play an attention starved "b" word but it seems like maybe it is just bad acting. She got irritated with everyone and it just irritated me to the point I wanted to slap her down the spiral staircase. To be fair, I haven't seen the actress in anything else. She may have played the part well, I hated the character. The only thing I loved was the DP's shot at 1:41:12, that was clever.. love how that brought the apartment together. Other than that 3 second period in time, no. I was really hoping that mom (or momo) had secretly poisoned everyone at dinner and the smell radiated upwards to the neighbor above to teach her a twisted lesson in manners. The synopsis said "then things go bump in the night"... the only bumping in the night was from me looking for the remote to make it stop. Oh, also Amy's line was great, " Am I suppose to just dump her down the stairs? "... I wished she would have.
