Mohammed Sajwani

This was my first Stephen King novel I've read and I had a great time reading this! I greatly related to Jack, I saw how much of a good person he was despite his flaws, his anger and his eventual turn to darkness and absolutely loved his redemption at the end. The other characters were great, bu in my opinion, Jack was the best because I related to him the most out of any character, and i could see some justification on why King hated Kubrick's shining, especially his points on Jack cause Kubrick decided to take a very complex character and just turned him into a generic horror villain, I wasn't even terrified of him. In all honesty, if you want to start reading Stephen King, read this book. It dosent require any other material from Kings other works to understand and its a hell of a ride to read

I absolutely loved the book. Its filled with so many details that I couldn't keep track of most of the time and has crazy concepts, but regardless, its a godamn fantastic book. Its currently the longest book I ever read in my life. Back when I was 12, it would take me a long time to read a 500 page book, but since reading it and becoming a 15 year old back in 2019, I see the improvement I made in reading since age 12. It is not the first book by King I read, the shining was the first and I am now going to read its sequal then Pet sematary. Horror was never a genere I enjoyed, but since reading the shining and It, I would like to read more horror novels and maybe horror films, starting with The shining.
