Not for every woman, you must have a strong backbone to withstand the emotional abuse the wife takes on. Her husband the best manipulator, when he does not get his way he makes it her fault (typical). I kept hollering at the television every time he opened his mouth …please don’t let him fool you)... My husband snaps back at me …could we please watch quietly, of course, this frustrated me further, so my input may have some anger influence.
The wife used and abused; her writing talent suppressed by prejudiced from a male dominated field, creating lack of self esteem allowing her to fall into a victim role.
Her husband had no problem using her skills and taking advantage of her writing abilities. So, a lifetime of being a ghostwriter without credit became the norm, a wifely duty you can say.
The movie was able to capture the pain and sorrow of betrayal, loved how the music brought the feeling of all emotions to the surface (breathtaking) making any woman to cheer on the wife. However, just when you thought she was free, she was not, the bravo moment was taken away.
Not sure if the title (the wife) was proper, perhaps some could see the connection, I could not.
The ending had loose ends, unsure if she would ghostwrite for son, or be an author herself.
Too bad strong women role movies are rare.
I really enjoyed the soundtrack and that I am going to buy.
Glenn Close was the best choice to play leading lady(excellent)
