Can't believe this is a TJ Gnanavel film. So many compromises for Rajinikanth. Such a waste of time and money.

Great performances throughout by all the actors, no doubt. GV Prakash also has done justice to his work. But damn the movie keeps you unnecessarily confused and it has a lot of resemblance to Aayirathil Oruvan directed by Selvaraghavan. Such a waste of time. The message at the end with the images rolling during post credits was the only solace. Good story but very bad execution.

Just a feel good film about the lives of two youngsters, comedy, little romance and great songs, complete entertainment!

The Good: *AK has the best look in the movie since Yennai Arindhaal. *Comedy has worked out really well. *Manju Warrier as a female lead has been given a good space. *The story has showcased an important message to the society, although quite cinematically. *BGM was great here and there. *Samuthirakani, Bucks, GM Sundar, 'Pattimandram' Mohanasundaram and Mahanadi Shankar have done total justice to their respective roles. The Bad: *Half baked screenplay. Quite unexpected from a talented Director like H.Vinoth. *Too much of guns and bullets. It was overwhelming. *Action sequences were not up to par. *Choppy slow motion shots. Totally unexpected from Nirav Shah. Action sequences could have been shot way better. *Second half seemed to be a total rush. The climax was completely out of shape. *Songs were not particularly impressive. *Sound mixing was horrible. Neither the music nor the vocals really popped out. Everything sounded muffled. Overall, it's a good entertainer for young audience. AK dominates the audience with his cool acting. Not so suitable though for family audience, especially elderly and young kids.

The Good: *A screenplay that works very well for most audience. A thorough family entertainer. *Vijay's dance, comedy and fight sequences. *This movie teaches a lot of family values. *Rich and vivid visuals. *Excellent sound mix and exemplary songs and BGM by Thaman. *Ensemble cast with everyone doing justice to their roles. *Emotional scenes are not overdone. Just the right balance throughout. *Art direction team has done a tremendous job. The Bad: *Lot of VFX shots for a hero introduction. Not so pleasant. *Too many fight sequences, a little overwhelming. *Female lead, Rashmika too glamourous in Jimikki Ponnu song, a bit too much for family audience. Overall, an amazing family entertainer; one that teaches family values but doesn't lack any commercial element in any way when it comes to celebrating the hero.

By no means is the film out of the box or excellent. The performance that Nani and Sai Pallavi have brought to their respective roles is what made me watch the whole film. The screenplay should have been more captivating and the film seemed to just end abruptly. The emotional aspect of the film just drops towards climax. It would have been way better if the climax alone was written well with a little bit of creativity. Sai Pallavi's prosthetic makeup is not convincing at all.
