I’m currently listening to this book as an audiobook. I’m half way through and trying to decide weather to continue.
The writer - Peter Temple - seems to be a very good writer, constructing interesting stories that hold your interest somewhat.
The stories do seem to wander off to unnecessary dialogue that in the long run have no bearing on the underlying story.
The writer has a great ability to capture and iterate the Australian wit. I found myself laughing at many of his typical Australian quips
The down side is the use of foul language.
Unnecessary.
Shooting Star was the first book I listened to and it prompted me to listen to Broken Shore.
I’ll try to stick it out.
The other downside to my audiobook is the narrator sounds like he’s reading a book not retelling a story. There is a difference and it’s important.
