A rather disturbing tail of a slow and gradual turn towards evil and insanity Joker is the sort of film that can make a viewer rather uncomfortable at times. Arthur's sad life slowly falls down towards the ultimate state of darkness as he makes one poor 'choice' after another and is constantly put into circumstances which lead to death and destruction for many of the people around him and ultimately lead to his complete loss of whatever good that many have existed within himself. In the end, however, it would seem that descent into evil was destiny for Arthur. The film's slow placing is completely necessary given that one of the lessons being shown is that the Joker wasn't born in a single day or in a single moment but instead was created in a transformational process as Arthur experiences one evil after another against himself and ultimately makes choices that lead him down into a dark path from which he ultimately is unlikely to ever escape. Arthur's dancing moments during certain important moments in the film are a great way to show the audience how his "good" side is slowly being transformed into the completely evil monster we all known and enjoy.
