This movie falls short in many ways but the ways the scenes are shot are very disjointing and end sometimes out of no where.
The Yorktown scene was particularly odd one moment ,we are in the battle then when our main characters spot the main adversary, everyone suddenly scurries off to the beach for no particular reason at all which also seems to be on the side of a mountain, I’m guessing no one in the directors department decided to look up the actual terrain of Yorktown or any of eastern Virginia for that matter. Anyway all that build up to just leave the bad guy on the beach talking to himself, why did they even go to the beach to begin with? Anyway they come back up the mountain… again what? And the battle of York town, is over. The movie leaves you feeling lost and confused which makes be that’s the point but with a lack of character development and substance of purpose behind what the characters just went through I wonder what story did I even just watch ? The characters Are more or less in the same position they were in when you find them, just 8 years older. I guess the son has a wife now, but we nothing about her, it all just feels very detached.
The Yorktown battle sums up the movie, lots of random running around undetected mostly with no substance and lack of historical accuracy.
