Frankly, I wasn’t too impressed by the story. Too many improbable liberties w/the plot. Hard to understand the dialogue. Obviously there is talent there. But pay more attention to the story. I’ve read her background & now understand where she’s coming from. But it just irked me. I would give it a mixed review. The best scene was that blues place, because the musicians were just great. Plot too implausible is what upset me. Self-defense? I don’t know. Sticking the guy in the trunk? However, NYU, my Alma mater in film-making is obviously training a lot of talented people, & I, personally never got that far, so who am I, just a movie-goer, & this is my gut response. Just make more movies, though. Don’t stop!
