I heard about this book in Time magazine's pick of the children's books for the year it was published and thought my daughter would like it and she did. The illustrations of a little girl slumbering with animals in their various habitats are at the same time vibrant and soothing. The book never failed to relax my daughter and put her in a drowsy mood. As an adult in her thirties, she asked if I still had the book (I did) and requested that I send it to her along with Grandfather Twilight, her other favorite book of that time in her childhood.
