Let me breakdown the last 7 years for you. the first 3-4 seasons is just insane and impossible to encapsulate. Unfortunately there is a drastic decline in season 5 and 6.1 during which the show undergoes significant change and adjustment. After 2 years it seemed as if the Vikings would never fully return to their former glory. However, when news reached me of season 6.2, the final season, my unwavering loyalty was rewarded because the Vikings did return... and the show ended- with a bang. I will boldly make the claim that Ragnar Lothbrok was without a doubt the greatest protagonist, of any show, of any time. in his eyes you will find the warrior and the lamb, the king and the farmer, the unwavering and the hesitant, the loved and the respected.
