Thangam: A unique crime thriller with strong story by Shyam Pushkaran. Loved the climax and made me analyse deeper on Vineeth Srinivasan's character through the prism of the shocking twist at the end. One of his best performances ever (than in Chappakurisu and Mukundanunni Associates) and he established his potential to handle deeper roles with confidence. It was a psychologically complicated role still he performed it meticulously and transformed to be haunting!

I felt it to be overrated and comfortably positioned as an exotic piece of art (thanks to the Hype created). It was highly acclaimed in international film festivals however it appeared to be just another purposeful/ artificial attempt to impress pseudo jury to be an intellectual work. I doubt scope of this story to be converted into a movie of more than an hour. Movies like Chola and Ozhivudivasathe Kali of Sanal Kumar Sasidharan were exceptional compared to this unkempt, unnecessarily stretched movie of similar genre. LJP wanted to hover around a though provoking philosophical apprehension of life: 'what makes a human's identity? Is it body or mind or soul?' He decently narrated it however using age old screen techniques adapted (or accidently looked alike) from old award winning movies which is polarised from real life. There were very few close shots on actor's facial expressions which did not find to be a wise method.

Brilliant directorial piece of art! Loved Cheruvathur slang and hats off to the casting from curresponding Geography. Loved Advt. Gangadharan, Shukur Vakeel, Judge, the Police who spoke to those 2 elderly women and of course the remarkable show by Kunchako Boban. Since couple of scenes were shot at my maternal home (Padimalika, Kuttamath) wherein my Mother lived till her marriage, which was renamed as 'Kalyasseri' in the movie, I couldn't wait for OTP release but went along to theatre to watch it with my parents. Enjoyed it to the core. Kudos to the message being conveyed to the mindset of people who dispense undue importance to political leaders in this country. This movie also has a satirical face which questions galloping fuel price in the country wherein Govts. remain numb and crumbling roads in the State!
