Everybody I have recommended this show to has thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife and I are through most of Season 2 at this point, and while Season 1 was good, Season 2 is even better. Hope that continues. Many of the reviews consider the show a joke from a military service perspective. Full of inaccuracies, gross examples of improper personal interactions, lack of professional procedures and competence, incredible situations and reactions to those same situations abound. The thing most of these reviewers seem to forget is that all shows of this type are meant as entertainment, wrapped up to some type of a conclusion in an hour or less, not documentaries on the realities of military service life. The dynamics of a small crew on a fast patrol ship with a wide variety of unique individuals provides much of the interest. The often-life-threatening encounters with illegal fishermen, drug smugglers, illegal immigrants, sailors in distress, medical emergencies, insurgents, the list goes on, provides the rest. I consider this show as a dramatic rendition of what the Australian version of the US Coast Guard does. The one blinding difference is that the Aussies seem much more reluctant to respond with deadly force when meet with resistance than I would expect of the US Coast Guard. If you like dramatics on the high seas I give this show 5 stars.
