Two by Two made me emotional to the point I couldn't stop feeling both the heaviness and the warmth even after I finished the book (thrice). Throughout the book, I was in complete awe of the relationship Russ slowly built with his daughter. Although it took a toll on my emotions from anger and angst to joy and comfort, I honestly loved the book.
Even though I wanted to punch Russ in the face for being such a pansy doormat, like all the time, and I wanted to scream at him for not opening his mouth or stand up for himself, I realized that I saw many people I personally knew in him. It made me think about how they think, feel, and how they are forced to stay put while being a punching bag. Gave me a different perspective on the whole situation. Sparks could have made Vivian less of a vicious person she is pictured to be though. I adored London, Marge, and Liz, too. I can see myself reading it again after a year or two, even if it is a slow read.
