A surprise. Well written. Surprisingly sophisticated storytelling. Does not feel like a cliche. The struggles of those considered “other” feel very relevant. Typical helping of medieval gore, balanced with some beautiful and touching moments of discovery, friendship, authenticity. Main characters are complex. They doubt. They are scared. They give voice to their feelings. Season finale a real page turner.
