Director Sudha brings us another inspirational journey (after Irudhi Suttru) this time of a determined ex air force officer trying to launch an airline which everyone irrespective of status/class can access. Strong performances by Suriya and Aparna well supported by other cast members like Karunas and Venkat. Special mention for Urvashi ma'am's role - the way in which some of the hard hitting mother-son moments are shown - top-notch performance by the veteran! GV Prakash's bgm is uplifting matching with the emotions the leading pair goes through. The regular songs though at times do seem unnecessary and this time a lot of them sound like they are inspired from Santhosh Narayanan. Overall 3.5 stars a family must watch package for the festive season!!

Looking for a crisp 100-minute thriller which can keep you hooked throughout - well this is your go-to movie. Being a non-Telugu, I was easily able to follow the movie with subtitles, and rarely noticed any glitches or loose ends left by the director. The screenplay is tight and the shades provided to each of the characters is praiseworthy. Starts as an intense cabin-fever thriller and finishes on a high note with good performances from most of the cast members! Overall a 3.5-star movie!

For any Indian watching this movie, it's like old wine in a new bottle. The core concept (no spoilers) has been explored multiple times in Bollywood in the past! For any non-Indian who follows Hollywood - they can find the premise interesting. The main issue with the movie is there is nothing that stays back with you - though it builds well, but by the time we reach the end of it for the penultimate climax, it totally falls flat and stays bland! The antagonist was a disappointment with lack of emotions and was mostly straight-faced! The mother was always worried, her character certainly needed better writing. The father & daughter played their parts fine. Overall worth 2 stars.

Pari fares well as a genuine supernatural thriller. The storyline has been heavily criticized by critics and experts alike, however in my opinion it was not at all that bad. The storyline is fresh and something bollywood has not experimented with before. If you are a horror genre fan, then this is definitely worth a watch. There are no song dance sequences to spoil the flow and the overall pace of the movie is smooth, making it a great entertainer. The movie has its spooks and chills moments. No scene seems botched up and the make up of the cast is also praiseworthy. Like Virat Kohli tweeted, this is one of Anushka's superior performances of her career. Rajat and Parambrata are talented artists and pull off their characters effortlessly and convincingly. The movie has attracted some controversies on religious front, but honestly it did not seem to promote anything negative about any religion specifically apart from the mention of some fictional characters which can be easily ignored. Overall 3.25 stars out of 5.

The basic premise is lifted from the bollywood hit Special 26. However this one is not as special as the original one. The storyline is completely tweaked to suit Surya's mass appeal however falls short of expectations and is not as engaging as the original. The script is loose and the editing is patchy. Surya puts up a decent performance. Ramya tries to pull off Anupam's character from the original one but fails. Senthil and other actors including the antagonist are given roles which do not seem required/necessary. Overall its a one time watch for audience who have not watched the original and for the ones who have watched the original can safely stay away. Anirudh's songs were a hit way before the film's release but in a movie like this do we really need such koothu songs. Overall 2 stars for me.

After Delhi Belly, the writer Akshat Verma returns with yet another situational black comedy which is crisp and trippy at the same time. All characters are going through different sorts of crisis and how beautifully their paths converge and their eventual self realization is all what this movie is about. Not for typical masala loving audience. Go for it if you appreciate good cinema. I would rate this movie as a shade darker than Delhi Belly and has its heart at the right place. All actors have played their parts to perfection. Overall 4.5 from me.
