I used to watch New Amsterdam until the scene where Dr Bloom had some policemen hired to protect the hospital staff, then the staff indicated they were afraid of the police. Including scenes that reflect the same “social issues” we now hear about on the news every night, ruins our escape from such subject matter. I enjoy being entertained by watching fiction, but it is ruined when the writing reflects true life controversial drama. N A is not, of course, the only show that relies on current controversies to use as fillers for their stories. I have other reviews to write as well. I miss New Amsterdam.
