I can not put into words how boring and unsatisfied I was with this movie. First of all, if you haven’t seen the 1984 version or have had read the book, then you will have no idea what is going on. I myself haven’t read or seen the previous movie so I was left wondering the whole 2 hours and 35 minutes what is happening. My first time watching this movie was at home, and all I knew about it was that apparently it was really good, and Timothee Chalamette and Zendaya are in it; so naturally I was hyped to see it. Right away I didn’t know what was happening. All I could tell was that there are sand people and they are at was with space people over some spice that comes from the sand (or something). Then there’s Timothee’s (Paul’s) family and their doing something I couldn’t figure out. This is all I could pick up because at about the 30 minute mark, I fell asleep, and so did my dad; so the only person that was left watching was my step sister (who read the book). The movie was incredibly slow from what I saw so that’s probably why I couldn’t keep my eyes open. About a year later I tried to watch this movie again after hearing that their making a second one (cuz apparently the first part couldn’t finish the story in 2h 35min). Again, I couldn’t tell what was going on at all, and I really really tried to understand the plot. I didn’t fall asleep, but I wish I did, because it was such a waste of my time. Even after watching all the way through I couldn’t understand this movie. The only reason why I gave it two stars is because of the cinematography and the acting. The movie looked fabulous, the editing was great, and from what I think is good acting, it was good acting. This is the only reason this movie got two stars, and I could not give it any higher than this. Thank you
