Most of the actors do a good job, and the action is pretty decent. The visuals are solid, though sometimes unrealistically so. The costumes look fresh out of dry cleaning too often, even after camping outside for a while. But hey- that CGI looks phenomenal.
They do a good enough job retelling the same story for the show to be fun.
My only genuine complaint is that I do not like the casting choice for Azula, and her crew.
It's one of those situations where instead of an actor doing their job well enough for viewers to become immersed, the viewers must keep reminding themselves that she is supposed to be Azula.
Also, Mae and Tai Li have almost no lines, and zero on screen personality.
I didn't buy them as their animated counterparts at all.
Maybe I will be proven wrong in Season 2.
I really hope that is the case.
