Chemistry between Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow is perfect for this tense suspense thriller. The pace of each episode is a slow burn that keeps you glued to the story and screen. Jeff Bridges is the Old Man, who the story hints is may be a retired assassin/agent/spy? Bridges plays the role well-still agile but brittle from the years, still grieving for his wife and still a protective doting father. John Lithgow is the straight-backed CIA official protecting Bridges’ location out of self preservation. After two episodes I am firmly hooked. The writers reveal the backstory tidbit by tasty tidbit and hint at what’s to come suspenseful conversation at a time. Great writing. Great actors. Something fresh and intelligent.
