The treatment of the topic has a touch of the occidental's view of the orient as an abode of mystery, magic, imagination and forbidden pleasure, but let's not judge the book solely by that. An extremely liberal exploration of the concept of love, and boy...o....boy!!!! what brilliant illustrations! It's worth a read. keep away all the religious views and plunge into Thompson's world of ink and calligraphy! You won't be disappointed.
